How backups and protection workWhere the line sits
Alderley splits the work in one place and keeps it there. Everything a visitor reads is yours: pages, posts, images, products, the words on the home page. Everything that keeps WordPress running is ours.
That means core, theme and plugin updates are applied and checked on our side rather than sitting in your dashboard going red. Caching is configured for you. Malware scanning and daily backups run underneath it. When an update needs trying first, there is a staging copy to try it on.
After you press publish
A managed WordPress plan is only worth having if the published site is quick. Alderley is tuned for that: caching at the platform level, a CDN in front of it, and images served in modern formats.
You will not be asked to install a stack of performance plugins to get there, and nothing we do to speed the site up changes what you see when you edit it.

Updates are managed and monitored, but no host can promise that a third-party plugin will never misbehave. That is what daily backups and monitoring are for: we can put a site back while we work out what happened. Rebuilding or redesigning a site is Ripley work.
